Button turning red after clicking "Start"
This button turning red means that the system has detected an error. Common causes of such errors are: that water protection has been triggered, cover protection has been triggered, or the engraving pattern is too large or too close to the edge of the workbed.
Troubleshoot the error by following the steps below.
- Boot up the engraving software.
- Access the “Vendor Settings”.
- Uncheck the "Water Protect" and confirm.
- Click “Start” to launch the engraving as usual.
If the button has not turned red, then the engraver's water protection function is malfunctioning.
Check that the safety interlock is in place and that the pump is working properly.
- If the water pump is not working, troubleshoot per Water pump not working>>.
- If the safety interlock and water pump are all in place, set your multimeter’s beeper on and check the continuity of the corresponding water protection sensor terminal on the adapter board (as shown).
If it conducts normally, remove the left panel and then the mainboard's protective plate.
- Check for conduction between WP and GND on the CN5 port on the mainboard (as shown).
- If it conducts normally, replace the mainboard with a new identical one.
- If it does not conduct, check the wiring between the mainboard and the adapter board, or replace the adapter board.
If all the above tests are normal and the problem persists, then the problem lies in components other than the water protection. Check the cover protection as follows.
- Access the “vender settings”.(password: rd8888)
- Uncheck the " enable protect" confirmation.
- Click “Start” to launch the engraving as usual
If the button has not turned red, and the LCD of the laser power supply lights up, Replace the safety relay(as shown). Refer to this article if LCD of laser power supply not lit after pressing reset button>>.
If the above fails, but the button is still not turning red, check the size of the pattern. Make sure it is not too close to the edge of the workbed or even larger than the workbed.
