LCD of laser power supply not lit after pressing reset button
Before troubleshooting, please watch the video below and ensure that the right steps are followed to start the machine:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1S8X8O832zz3-ZuLerlRU4Sk5A0HtFfge
1) Plug in the power cord, turn on the rocker switch on the backside of the machine, connect the safety interlock, rotate the beam attenuator to the max, and turn off all covers including:
a. The device limit switches on both sides of the unit (see picture 1). If they are not triggered correctly, you can adjust their heights by following the video above.
b. the tray switches (see picture 2). The tray has to be inserted in place.
2) Press the E-stop switch and rotate it clockwise to reset.
3) Press the RESET button on the machine, and observe the status of the light (The reset button should be pressed every time after opening and closing the glass lid.)
Normally, the machine light will change to green after step 3.
If not, please stick two tapes on the two device limit switches to manually enable them, press the RESET button with an open lid, and observe if the power supply display will light up.
If the LCD of the laser power supply still doesn't light up, troubleshoot by the following steps.
- Remove the power cover of the engraver (see video).
Check the power status of the safety relay inside (see picture).
Due to adjustments made to the product, the safety relay on your machine may appear as shown in the image below.
1) The safety relay is off.
Measure the voltage between the A1 and A2 on the relay, and if is 0V, please check the wires between the relay and the PSU in case they are disconnected.
If it is 24V, the safety relay should be replaced.
2) The safety relay is on but just lights up with only one indicator.
Open the protective cover, stick the door switch and the tray switch with tapes to disable them, and Measure the continuity between S11 & S22, and S21 & S22 on the relay.
a. If there is no continuity, the issue is either with the tray switches or the door sensors.
b. If so, please press and hold the RESET button, then measure S33 and S34 simultaneously. The safety relay is defective if S33&S34 is continuous. Otherwise, replace the reset button or the relay(as shown).
3) The safety relay lights up three indicators.
Measure the input voltage of the laser power supply.
a) The voltage is 220V, replace the laser power supply;
b) The voltage is 0, check the wires between the relays and laser power supply or replace the relays;
